The fans of Massillon and Canton McKinley football are avid. You can’t surf the Web without tripping over a reference to “The Game.”
A simple Google search of Canton McKinley football generates 26,300 references. Massillon football generates 189,000 different Web pages.
There is a documentary called “Go Tigers” about Massillon’s football team. Sports Illustrated said it was the No. 1 rivalry in high school sports. Las Vegas has a betting line on the game and the fan Web sites are some of the most informative around.
With the help of those Web sites, Coaches Aid went behind the numbers to break down McKinley/Massillon, which will take place for the second time this season – and the 119th time overall – when the two square off for the Division 1, Region 2 championship on Saturday at Infocision Stadium in Akron.
