Posts: 241- Posted: Sunday, February 12, 2012 08:31:08 PMTurner indeed posted an impressive win Saturday to capture the district crown on its home floor. The Lady Falcons seemed to come alive and played like they have most of this season after the halftime break. They went into the half leading by 10 and came out in the third period and played a smothering defense that only allowed Velma 12 points in the whole second half of action.
In-spite-of a great effort on defense the Lady Falcons kept their offense firing on all cylinders throughout the contest scoring 18 - 19 - 19 -11 points in the four periods. Velma's leading scorer in the game mangaged double figures. No other player reached more than 8 points in the game. Turner committed only 14 fouls while playing tight on defense.
For Turner Hannah Stevens poured in 21, Perri McGill added 17, Conner Harmon 13, and Taylor Foster finished in double figures with 11. Andi McGill and Christine Robertson scored in the game for the Falcons also.
Up in Wildcat country those Dewar girls sure surprised me by blowing the home court Earlsboro Lady Wildcats in the final Saturday. All week long I made a comment about how I would hate to be Dewar and have to go into that Earlsboro gym and play the home team. Earlsboro has played alot better this season than they did in this one for sure. I know you are a super proud Turner Lady Falcon fan. I too find myself supporting them as one of my favorite top five teams in Class A girls. I don't know if you graduated from Turner or just adopted them much like I have.
On your ''Quote'' you wrote this - ''TURNER LADY FALCONS! TRADITION HAS BEGAN!''
It should read ''TURNER LADY FALCONS! TRADITION HAS BEGUN!''
remember in school when we learned about run ran run - sing sang sung - do did done - ring rang rung - bring brang brung. I know you don't remember it this way because there is no such word in the English language as brang and brung. I bring, I brought, and I have brought.
I'm really a nice person. Please don't get mad as I am only joking about this. I would be getting attacked from all directions if someone corrected me every time I post on CoachesAid.

Earlsboro's point guard did not play in the district tournament. Injury.

Posts: 24- Posted: Monday, February 13, 2012 03:00:43 PMcoach got a T also, both girls and boys coachs got T's. If they had worried more about coaching and not what the refs called they would have done better. Girls coach complained the whole game. Main team was mixed with second string second qt, pulled press. Could have been worse. Team and coachs showed very poor sportsmanship.

The Superintendent presented the trophy to the winning team. However, poor sportsmanship was displayed by the Earlsboro girls as they left the court after the game and was not present when the trophy was awarded to Dewar.
