4. Longmont (4-1) falls 13-3 in rival game with Loveland

5. Heritage (4-1) 56-0 over Denver West for fourth consecutive win

6. Durango (5-0) pounds Sand Creek 55-0 to remain spotless

7. Monarch (5-0) 35-14 over Standley Lake to remain unbeaten

8. Montrose (5-0) has scored 31 or better five consecutive times after 42-21 romp of No. 5 Pueblo West

9. Fountain-Fort Carson (5-1) rebounds from first loss with 53-0 rout of Widefield

10. Pueblo West (4-1) falls from the unbeaten ranks after losing to Montrose 42-21 at home

 NOTES: Only one top 10 team lost this past week as the No. 5 Pueblo West Cyclones went down to  the No. 9 Montrose Indians 42-21. … West falls all the way to No. 10 this week while  Montrose jumps up to No. 8.

6. Pueblo County (4-1) hangs on to remain unbeaten in league with 26-20 win over Pueblo East 

7. D'Evelyn (4-1) another lopsided victory 48-0 over Summit

8. Windsor (4-1) falls from No. 3 after losing to Northridge 27-20

9. Conifer (4-1) moves back in after 25-20 win over Elizabeth in tough conference game

10. Falcon (5-1) Falcons are part of the tough Southern League, which has four teams in top 10

 NOTES: Aspen moves back into rankings while The Academy moves out after getting blasted by No. 3 Faith Christian. … Four teams remain unbeaten in the 2A ranks, including Nos. 1-3 Olathe, Platte Canyon and Faith Christian and Bayfield, who is the only 6-0 team in the class and moves up to No. 6.

6. Wray (4-1) has won three in a row now after loss, beating Highland 27-0

7. Hotchkiss (5-0) big shutout 48-0 over Rangely

8. Lyons (4-1) cruises with 49-0 romp of Nederland

9. Meeker (3-1) only loss to 2A Olathe; beats West Grand 56-0

10. Rocky Ford (3-2) has won three in a row including 23-0 over John Mall this week

  NOTES: The bottom of the top 10 has changed with No. 8 Calhan losing and No. 10 Front Range Christian dropping its second consecutive game. … That means Lyons moves up to No. 8 and two teams enter the top 10 and Nos. 9 and 10, Meeker at No. 9 and John Mall at No. 10. … Both are making their first appearance in the top 10. 


CLASS 1A-8-MAN

5. Caliche (4-1) can't hang with No. 2 Merino 39-6

  NOTES: Finally, a dent in the top 5 as Caliche gets beat by No. 2 Merino and falls from No. 3 to No. 5 in the rankings. … The other four teams remain perfect through five weeks of the season.


 CLASS 1A-6-MAN

1. Hi-Plains (5-0) pounds Liberty (Joes) 59-12

2. Idalia (5-0) hammers Deer Trail 68-20

3. Otis (5-0) another big score, 76-40 over Fleming

4. Prairie (4-1) drops 74-36 decision to Peetz

5. Eads (3-2) 69-30 over South Baca

  NOTES: No team wants to remain in the No. 5 spot in our rankings. … For the third consecutive week, the No. 5 team was beaten. … This time, it was South Baca's turn, which lost to Eads 69-30 and dropped back out of the rankings a week after getting in. … Eads moves back into rankings despite 3-2 record. … And No. 4 Prairie gets its first loss, a beating by Peetz but remains in the rankings.
