The Mount Rainier Lutheran Hawks are closing in on something special.
The Hawks boys basketball team improved to 13-3 Tuesday night after beating Puget Sound Adventist, 60-37, behind Andrew Wolf's 25 points.
The Hawks, No. 8 in the Coaches Aid Class 1B state rankings, play at Northwest Yeshiva Thursday night. Mount Rainier Lutheran is one victory away from claiming the Sea-Tac 1B League title, which would be a first for the school.
In other action Tuesday night, Alex Williams had 24 points, 13 rebounds and six blocks as Capital (14-1) won on the road at North Thurston, 75-67. The Cougars face Timberline in their next game Friday.
