The 2010 Kaminsky Classic High School Basketball Tournament at Joplin High School will go on as scheduled according to Joplin Athletics department secretary Cindy Brubaker, despite weather conditions that have closed a majority of schools throughout Missouri.
Brubaker said seven of the eight teams are either already in Joplin or are en route, including defending tournament champion and Coaches Aid Class 5 #1 Webster Groves, who left early this morning. Francis Howell and William Chrisman both arrived in Joplin Wednesday night. The only team still not accounted for is Blue Springs, and according to the Blue Springs Activities office, a decision has not been made on whether the Wildcats will make the trip to Joplin.
The first game is slated to tip-off at 4:30 today between Carl Junction and Howell at Joplin High School. Other teams include Joplin, who is scheduled to tip off with Blue Springs at 6 p.m.; #9 Ozark and Chrisman at 7:30 p.m. and Webster Groves and Neosho cap off the night's activities at 9 p.m. Four more games are scheduled for Friday while the tournament championship will take place Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
