Here are some top performers from last week's Illinois high school sports scene:

Darnell Stevenson ran for 140 yards on just eight carries and Belleville East went to 3-0 by beating Edwardsville 27-7.

 

Collinsville quarterback Austin Hails connected with Chris Tidwell on a 14-yard touchdown pass as time expired to give the Kahoks a 32-28 win over Belleville West.

 

Kyle Frake scored four first-half touchdowns to lift Clifton Central over Lawrenceville, 43-0. In the first half, Frake gained three times more yards than Lawrenceville did in the entire game.

 

Quarterback John Betten threw four touchdown passes and O’Fallon defeated Granite City 40-14. Betten completed 14 of 19 passes for 274 yards.

 

Nashville’s Gannon Mamell gained 133 yards rushing, 79 receiving and scored five touchdowns in Nashville’s 59-20 win over West Frankfort.

 

Fisher quarterback Guy Kirby, who had 278 yards rushing last week, gained another 284 yards rushing and scored three touchdowns in a 49-7 win over Blue Ridge.

 

St. Thomas More quarterback Julian Boswell, a junior, passed for 324 yards in a road win over Watseka.

 

Bobby Aikman of Arthur-Lovington ran for one touchdown, caught two touchdown passes, blocked a field goal scored on a two-point conversion run as Lovington beat Arcola 27-17.

 

Adam Smyth of Crystal Lake Central, a fullback, rushed for 232 yards on just 18 carries and scored on touchdown runs of 21, 55 and 62 yards.

 

Alec Giles of Crystal Lake South has two interception returns for touchdowns this season. By doing so, he has outscored South’s opponents, who have only one touchdown this season.
