Top seeds fall in D-I and II

It just doesn’t pay to be No. 1. For the second week in a row, projected state champs went by the wayside as Saint Ignatius and Turpin fell from the ranks with bad losses.

Here’s a look at the Top 8 teams left as football heads to the regional final level in Week 13:

Division I

1. Glenville (11-1)

2. Elder (9-2)

Notes: Glenville, which was No. 1 to start the season, bounced St. Ignatius 30-13. … Elder upset St. Xavier 17-14. …. Four teams have been No. 1 in the big school division. … Glenville plays Solon this week with Dublin Coffman squaring off against Hilliard Davidson, Massillon going up against Canton McKinley and Elder facing Anderson.
