Week 7 GameTracker
By Kent McDill
These are some of the most highly anticipated games of the week in Illinois:
Sherrard (6-0) at Orion (6-0)
Sherrard is ranked eighth in Class 3A, Orion is ranked fifth in 2A. This game is, for all intents and purposes, for the Olympic Conference title.
Libertyville (4-2) at Stevenson (6-0)
Warren is in between them in the North Suburban Lake Conference, but Libertyville could conference race up for grabs with a win.
Oswego (5-1) at Plainfield Central (3-3)
Oswego is unbeaten in Southwest Prairie play. Plainfield Central is one of three teams with a single conference loss.
Lincoln Way East (6-0) at Bolingbrook (5-1)
This is for the lead in the Southwest Suburban Blue Conference, with Lincoln Way Central (5-1) also in the mix.
Providence (5-1) at St. Rita (6-0)
Providence lost its opener against Lincoln-Way East. St. Rita running back Jahwon Akui has run for 1,386 yards and 25 touchdowns this season.
Geneva (6-0) at Rochelle (4-2)
Vikings have not lost a regular season game since Oct. 20, 2006.
Alexis United (6-0) at Mercer County (5-1).
Two unbeaten teams in the West Prairie Trail (Northwest) Conference.
Lexington (6-0) vs. Flanagan-Cornell (5-1).
Lexington’s T. J. Stinde has 1,582 yards and 25 touchdowns already. A Lexington loss would really throw the Heart of Illinois conference title into a whirlpool.
