Hot List: Week Seven's stars

By JOHN FERGUSON
CoachesAid.com Tennessee Content Coordinator

As the season begins to wind down, the stars begin to truly shine. Top performances toward the end of the season usually come in important district matchups, making them even more stellar. Here’s the List for Week 7:

Bo Wallace, senior, Giles County: Want some gaudy QB numbers? How about 339 passing yards and 5 touchdowns … in only 19 attempts. Wallace averaged 24 yards for each of his 14 completions in leading his team past Fairview, 54-21.

Philip Juhlin, senior, Maryville: Juhlin completed 9-of-13 passes for 228 yards and 3 touchdowns, and added a rushing score to lead the Rebels’ 28-21 comeback victory over Knoxville Catholic.

Reece Browning, senior, Farragut: Browning was scintillating last Friday - he completed 23 of 30 pass attempts for 365 yards and 3 touchdowns, more than enough to navigate the Admirals past Bearden, 42-17.

Travis Williams, junior, Anderson County: The junior QB was 18-of-28 for 359 yards and 3 touchdowns against Livingston Academy, as Anderson County rolled to a 27-12 win.

Jovon Robinson, sophomore, Wooddale: 243 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns is a great night, but what made the soph RB’s night so special was that 217 yards and three of his scores came in the second half of Wooddale’s 26-14 win over Ridgeway.

Kennon Holder, senior, Huntingdon: Always a Hot List favorite, Holder continues to impress. The senior RB had 166 of his 247 yards in the first quarters, scoring three times to pace the Mustangs past Dyer County, 34-3.

William Officer, senior, David Lipscomb: Officer was sick all week, but found the strength necessary on Friday to rush for 209 yards and two touchdowns to help the Mustangs down Greenbrier, 28-0.

Weston Hazelhurst, senior, Clinton: Hazelhurst powered for 217 bruising yards and a score in Clinton’s 29-12 victory over Powell.

Victor Caro, junior, Brentwood Academy: The speedy Cary scampered for 166 yards and 3 touchdowns to lead the Eagles over Baylor, 28-12.

Christian Brewer, senior, South Doyle: The senior cross-country standout won the Knoxville Interscholastic League Championship last Tuesday, crossing the line in 16:43.10. Brewer is rounding into form at just the right time, with the state championships just a couple of weeks away. Brewer ran a personal-best 15:56.00 at the Great American XC Festival in Cary, NC, the week before, finishing 18th against a tough national field.
