JOELLE AMARAL, Randolph: The junior was the top New Jersey girls finisher in the prestigious Eastern States race at the Manhattan Invitational at Van Cortlandt Park Saturday. She finished in 14th place out of 76 runners in 14:58.27 in the 2.5 mile-race.

CHEROKEE: The Cherokee boys’ cross country team clinched their 13th consecutive Olympic American Division title with a 23-35 win over Lenape and a 17-45 win over Eastern on Tuesday. The Chiefs’ Steve Burkholder capture first in the event.

FIELD HOCKEY
EWING: The Ewing field hockey team recently sponsored a day at the school in which they collected donations from students—loose change was recommended—and other school personnel. The money was given to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure and the National Philanthropic Trust Breast Cancer Fund. The team also titled a game "Play for a Cure" and collected donations from the stands. Donations were made in the name and memory of Sheila Ahearn, the mother of assistant coach Kelly Ahearn, who passed away from breast cancer last year.
