Lassiter (6-0) is riding the huge arm of Hutson Mason and Region 6 mate Walton (6-0) relies on its running game to average 32 points a game. … Roswell, which also is in Region 6, remained No. 10 after a 45-7 victory over Alpharetta. Collins Hill is 6-0, but has No. 8 Peachtree Ridge this week. … Don’t expect Camden County (4-2) to lose again in the regular season. The Wildcats are into their Region 3 schedule and have won their first three games by a combined 171-6. Their remaining four opponents are a combined 8-14.

Notes: Last week we alerted folks about Thomas County Central. The Yellow Jackets (5-1) moved to 4-0 in Region 1, winning their fifth consecutive game after opening with a 13-9 loss to Thomasville. They play Westside-Macon on Oct. 30. … Surprising Hephzibah, which has never won more than seven games in a year of a program that dates to 1954, is 5-1, 5-0 in Region 3. The Rebels, who are allowing seven points a game, have already defeated Lakeside-Evans (5-1) and should beat Harlem this week before facing Evans (5-1) and Richmond Academy (4-2) in consecutive weeks. … Don’t be fooled by Stone Mountain’s 5-1 start. The Pirates play Tucker on Oct. 23 and finish the season at Southwest DeKalb.

The Pirates have won consecutive games by identical 7-0 scores and have given up only 15 points to four Class A opponents this season. … Whitefield Academy (5-2) appears to be only tough task remaining for Holy Innocents’, which is 6-1, 5-0 in Region 5. … In Region 6, Darlington is 4-3 overall, but 3-0 in the region. … Wesleyan has allowed only 15 points this season on a safety and two TDs.
